Technical training classes- (10) Ceramic art class

In May 1997, the prison invited Lu Sheng-tao, a master Cochin potter, to teach inmates the traditional Chinese art.

At first, it was a three-month course. After learning the basics, outstanding trainees were selected to move up to other course of ceramic arts. In 2003, the training was extended to five months and was added with modern ceramic studies.

The aim is to change the character of the inmates as well as providing them with a specific skill. The course is offered in cooperation with the Shilin chapter of Taipei After-care Association.
